The Parish Room refurbishment has been going flat out over the last year, what is visually obvious is the new floor, started in August and finished in December and has exceeded our expectations. What is not so visible is the electrical rewiring which has been going on without the need to close the room. The completion of this and the next part of the project (Phase 2) to lower and sound deaden the ceilings, carpet the kitchen/vestibule area will be carried out in latter part of August and early September.
All this would not have been possible which the generous help from the village, unexpected grants from local sources and the hard work of Bob Brandt who deserves a huge accolade. Without his drive and determination we would not have got anywhere as far as we are now. He has been treasurer, project coordinator and secretary and has announced his retirement when Phase 2 is finished.
Remember the Pudding Party on 12th July.
Thanks to the Parish Council and Street Fayre committee for their generous donations and my committee for their unfailing support.
