Meteor over Langham

22/9/2012

I was in the Bluebell on Friday 21/09/12 when Bridget drew everyone's attention to a bright light travelling west.  We stepped out onto the street and there was a large bright light with a tail moving west.  It looked like a plane on fire to me although I thought the flames had a greenish tinge.

This was at 10:56pm (I checked in case this might help an accident inquiry!) so the excellent Timothy Taylor's Landlord was taking effect.  However, this was no alcohol induced illusion as the BBC carried reports from across the UK - click here.

RAF Langham 1940 - 1958
A Brief History including RAF Weyborne

The Friends of Langham Dome have re produced this book, originally produced by the late Len Bartram.  This latest version has over 35 interesting photographs and, following further research, much more information.
This is a must 'have book' for anyone who has the slightest interest in the history of this area.  It would make an excellent Christmas present!
Come to the Book Launch, in the Langham Bluebell, at 7.30 pm on Thursday 11th October
Alternatively you can purchase the book from The Bluebell, The Binham Chequers,
Patrick Allen (01328 830348) or online at
www.friendsoflanghamdome.org
Price £6.95 + p&p
