This walkie talkie was left at the Children's games table and has since been claimed by the young owner (she correctly identified the Channel in use).

The clipboard was left at about the same time but is still sitting here looking very lonely.

If you want to claim the clipboard contact 01328 830535.

The main road through the village will be closed between 6.30am and 11.30pm.  The diversion round the 'large block' will be signposted.  Street Fayre visitors will be parking in the free car park opposite the old Langham Glassworks.

Only a few days to go now - the car park is ready, the bunting is up, bric a brac has been collected and myriad cakes and scones have been baked.  Even the weather has improved some!
We hope to see you all at the fayre and any offers of help will be gratefully received.

Tornado alert

12/7/2012

Just when we thought the weather couldn't get any worse Barry Betts spotted this tornado forming just to the west of the village at 5.30pm Tuesday 10th July.  It lasted 5-6 minutes before it broke up and petered out.

The Jubilee Tea

I finally tracked down some photos of the Jubilee Tea.  Here is Janet Allen inspecting the cakes, including the magnifient centre piece she provided.

At the end of the tea the reason for the central spike became obvious as pyrotechnics preceded the cutting of the cake.

The event was well attended and the Ladybirds provided a great atmosphere and a great spread of food.

The winning square was drawn at the Parish Room coffee morning, Saturday 7th July.  The draw was I-21, highlighted by the red circle and the name against this square was Paul Fawcett.  Paul wins £50 (a generous donation) so the whole £512 raised goes towards the Parish Room.

Congratulations to Juila Thompson for an excellent effort.
