We need willing helpers to sell bric-a-brac especially between 08:00 and 12:00 on Street Fayre day, Saturday 28th July 2012, but any help for just one of the hourly slots would be very welcome.
We also need help on the other village stalls: bottles, books, etc. Contact Alison Curtis 830535 Villagers living along the Holt Road between the Church crossroads and the Hollow Lane junction will soon receive advance notice of the road closure for the Street Fayre. The Fayre raises money to the benefit of the Church, Parish Room, the Playing Field, Langham Village School, Friends of Langham and other noble charities. As most of you know, stalls, displays and refreshments line the streets, and entertainers perform throughout the day. There will be a barbeque and entertainment outside The Bluebell in the evening. This year's official road closures are different from 2010: Holt Road, from the Church crossroads to the turning into Hollow Lane will be closed from 06:30am until 11:30pm. Hollow Lane and other local roads are unaffected & will be open all day, but may be busy.
The road will be closed from 06.30am on Street Fayre Day as stalls, displays and refreshment stands start arriving to begin setting up in preparation for the start of the Fayre. Therefore there will be no Vehicular access to properties from this time. If you need your car during the day we recommend you leave it in the designated Street Fayre Car Park for ease of access, so that no vehicle is left on the street mentioned. This Car Park is in the field opposite the old Glass works on North Street. It would be helpful if short term tenants of Holiday Cottages be informed of these arrangements when booking, so that they are not surprised that they cannot use the closed road between the hours 06:30 until 18:00. There will be access for emergency services throughout the day. We do hope that these arrangements will not cause you too much inconvenience, and that you will enjoy the Fayre itself if, you are here. Thank you very much for your understanding and co-operation. Edward Allen Langham Street Fayre Committee Doors open at 10:00am, all proceeds to the Parish Room.
Don't forget it is Nic Page's Music Night in the Parish Room tonight. See you there.
Shean will be running another charity quiz, this one in aid of Sport Relief. Starts at 8:00pm on Wednesday 11th April.
