The minutes of these meetings are now on the website.
Monday 11th May at 7pm in the Village Hall.
This is the annual Village AGM meeting and PC meeting. We also hope to co-opt new members to fill 2 vacancies.
Only 5 nominations were submitted for the PC Elections so these 5 people have been elected without a contest.
The are still 2 casual vacancies and we will seek to fill these in the near future.
Our local police contact, Jason Pegden, reports that there has been a spate of allotment thefts locally. He advises people not to keep valuable kit in sheds on the allotments. If you see anything suspicious telephone the Police on 101 and if possible get the registration of any vehicles involved.
He praised the information from the public which contributed to 2 people being convicted for the recent burglaries and both received custodial sentences.
I'm sure most people know that there will be a General Election in May but did you know that the same day could see the election for the Parish Council. There are 7 seats on the PC and if we only get 7 or fewer candidates there will no need for an election. If, on the other hand, we get more than 7 candidates we will hold an election. Shades of the recent BBC series 'The Casual Vacancy'.
If you want to put your name forward you can get the forms from the Langham Parish Clerk at the PC meeting on Monday 9th March in the Village Hall (Parish Room) from 7pm or by e-mail.
Lots of info on the official website but don't let this put you off. If you are thinking of having a go contact anyone on the Parish Council for more details.
We have been informed that a 2 bedroomed property will be available soon in Swans Close.

We have been given an update on the investigation into the burglaries that took place in Langham earlier in the year. Jason Pegden of Norfolk Constabulary wrote:
"I am able to update you guys on the Langham burglaries, I understand from CID that it has been a long process but two persons are now remanded in custody for the burglaries and have been charged for the offences and are both awaiting court, both have also been dealt with for a string of other offences out of county. There were four persons involved at the time, we are waiting the identity of one other which is currently in another prison for other burglaries, but this is a recent enquiry. The fourth person has not been identified , but none the less we have managed to detect your burglaries for Langham. Please spread the news although we will update all that were affected by these crimes."
