Langham Dome Trainer

If you cross the old airfield between Langham and Cockthorpe you will pass a strange black dome on the east side of the road.  The story behind this youngest of all ancient monuments can be found on the dedicated website.
The refurbished Langham Dome was opened on Saturday 19th July 2014 with Guests of Honour: Air Marshal Dick Garwood CB CBE DFC and Dr. Bert Osborne DFC (455 Squadron Royal Australian Air Force, Langham 1944). Bert Osborne flew about 20 missions from Langham, returning 'al fresco' once when his rear gunnery cupola had been shot off.

At 2.30pm there was a display by the ‘Grace’ Spitfire.

Then came the big moment when the dome was opened and what a transformation! I will post again when I've had time to get back for a longer visit.
